Wear parts and spare parts
The meantime between failures of shredders is mainly influenced by the quality of the wear parts used. Maintenance Partners delivers all types of wear parts for shredders:
- Shear Blades
- Wear plates
- Liner plates
In most cases, Maintenance Partners suggests to use Hardox® material wear parts, because of its wear- and abrasion resistant properties. Depending on the shredder’s application, altnerative materials can be selected.

Repairs & Overhauls of Shredders
Maintenance Partners’ technicians are highly experienced in the overhaul and repair of shredders. The first step in any overhaul or repair is the inspection, followed by an inspection report with repair proposal.
After approval of the repair proposal, the repair or overhaul begins. The revision may contain the following items:
- Preparation of technical drawings for machining
- Welding of bearing places
- (re)bushing of shafts
- Balancing of rotating parts
- Testing and drawing up final report
Maintenance Partners also offers welding repairs for shredders. We can welding using hard wearing materials or apply a layer of tungsten carbide. Read more about welding repairs on this page.
Support from inhouse engineering department
Repairs of shredders are supported by Maintenance Partners’s inhouse engineering department.
Each welding repair that is executed by Maintenance Partners receives a follow up by qualified welding engineers. During and before the repair, NDT specialists check the welding quality using Dye Penetrant Inspection, Magnetic Fluorescent Inspection, ultrasonic inspections and PMI and hardness tests.
Design and material improvement
The engineering department also allows us to implement design and material improvements. This can further increase a shredder’s lifetime
